Kohtaa

Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Kohtaa is a live voice translator. This page explains in plain words what happens with your data when you use it.

Who is responsible

Meer Development, based in the Netherlands, is the controller for the personal data described here.

Contact: zander@meerdevelopment.nl

What we process

Why we process it

How long we keep it

Recordings (audio, transcripts and translations) are kept until they are deleted. We do not delete them automatically yet. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

To request deletion, email zander@meerdevelopment.nl with the approximate date and time and the language pair of the conversation. There are no accounts, so we cannot find your recordings without these details.

Who else handles your data

We do not sell data and we do not share it with anyone else.

Accounts, ads and cookies

There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Your browser storage (localStorage) holds only your language and interface preferences and whether you accepted the recording notice, on your own device.

Website statistics

On the website we count visits with Umami, privacy-friendly and cookieless statistics that we host ourselves in the EU. It stores no personal data, uses no cookies, does not follow you across other sites and respects your Do Not Track setting. We only use the numbers to improve the site. The Android app does not include these statistics.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it deleted, object to its use, and complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

To use any of these rights, write to zander@meerdevelopment.nl

Age and other people

Kohtaa is not meant for anyone under 18. The microphone also picks up the person you are talking to, so tell them before you start.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes too.
